American Tales
March 11 - 20, 2005 Written and directed by Pruella Centers The 2005 Theatre in the Grove Children's Original Play This is an original play and dramatization of Native American culture. It is a collection of stories, as told by the author's grandfather, with embellishments from the author's imagination. Included in the play is the creation of butterflies, the rattlesnake and the child and, of course, the story of coyote stealing fire. Coyote and Raven take the audience on a hilarious romp to bring fire to the other animals for warmth. Noella Red Hawk, the Title VII Indian Education Facilitator with the Northwest Regional Education District, will provide authentic American Indian drumming, songs and dance with authentic costumes.
